Delayed flights, ham sanduches and roller coaster cabs
Our last couple of days didn´t go completely as planned, but there´s something to be said for spontaneity.

Beach Guy and Girl - Hermosa Beach, CA

Wine tour in the Hunter Valley on our last full day
Beware of American tour guides that swear they are "certified" boomerang instructors...especially when they are from Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Australia Zoo...funky turtles among other things!
We hit Australia Zoo on April 24th on our way to Brisbane. The Croc hunter started a pretty neat little zoo.. Crikey!

Whitsundays by paddle
We hit Airlie Beach on April 14th (we think) to get ready. Again, we were expecting the worst...the rain was pretty bad and the wind was cranking. Not the best recipe for a sea kayaking trip across the Coral Sea.

Koalas, wallabies & roos - oh my!
And the dream became reality! Jeri got to squeeze (gently) Banjo (the 2 year old koala) at Billabong Sanctuary. I got to hold Nugget, the 40 kilo Wambat.

We got tattoos!!!!
Yes, you can see John's - no, mine will most likely not see the light of day :) Yes, it hurt a little (John teared up) (not) - but compared to whacking into rocks and falling down waterfalls - it was a piece of pie.

Spelunking - Hazeltine Style
Tight spaces, abseiling (rappelling),cold water, absolute darkness and a couple glow worms describes Waitomo Caves. We went on a "dodgy" caving trip yesteday, got soaked to the bone and a little battered and bruised - it was "classic"!!

Velociraptor's are not just in Jurassic Park
The day started out like any other adventure, a little disappointing. We stayed in a human sized bug zapper, got turned away at 7:40 and told to report at 8:50 for our taxi up the glacier due to the heavy cloud cover. So we went and had an overpriced, uncooked breakfast of fruit and Wheat Bix. Then, things started to pick up.
