We were standing in front of the baggage carousal, fresh off our Air New Zealand flight from Sydney to Christchurch.  We had just a tic over an hour to find our bags, clear customs and check in for our next leg into Queenstown.  Normally this is a fairly easy task.  The airport is small, the customs folks are efficient, and we had plenty of time.  That is…until Jeri’s bag didn’t show up on the carousal.  We did our best to rush the lost bag process, but that was not quite good enough.  They handed us off to the scary customs officers behind the wall.  When we entered, there was nothing but long conveyor belts full of the contents of unwary travelers’ belongings.
