| We hit Airlie Beach on April 14th (we think) to get ready. Again, we were expecting the worst...the rain was pretty bad and the wind was cranking. Not the best recipe for a sea kayaking trip across the Coral Sea. |

We had to delay our trip by one day...it was not too hard to spend a day flopped by the lagoon doing absolutely nothing. We managed! We took off the next morning, equipped with a double kayak, our campig gear, and a small bottle of the best rum in Oz. It took us about 6 hours to find a secluded island 16 kilometers away with our own private beach with some fairly spectatular views of the Great Barrier Reef. It may have been better than Jamaica! |

| Wow!!! I want to be you when I grow up! Absolutely loving the amusing anecdotes. It's snowing like crazy here. Big gigantic wet flakes. Basically three or four of them cover Naya's entire body. She loves it! You know I could have had my own private island on the way home today. All I had to do is run into a drift and I could have stayed there for awhile. Have a fun couple of days on your amazing vacation! love ya bunches-jean |
